September 5, 2018 – Day 310 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Ferrell’s Fire – Today’s photo is the interior of our Iconic local diner called Ferrell’s, located in downtown Madisonville, Ky. About 3am this morning (it’s open 24 hrs a day) the grill caught fire and while the employees attempted to put the fire out, they had to flee the scene as the smoke got too heavy. The fire department (only about two blocks away) arrived a short time later and got it out. There is extensive damage, but according to the owners, they will reopen. I can recall eating here as a kid some 50 plus years ago and still do from time to time.

September 4, 2018 – Day 309 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Jordan’s 1st Day – My nephew Jordan arrives with his dad to his first day of pre-school! He’s growing up so fast and had a great day!

September 3, 2018 – Day 308 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Platform Greetings – Today this scene was repeated at many of the stations between Chicago and Carbondale, Illinois as I made my trip back home from Chicago on train 391!

September 2, 2018 – Day 307 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Lines – After getting off the Blue Line train in Chicago, Illinois I grabbed this shot of the stairs, escalator and patterns in the walls, ceiling and stairs as I transferred to the “L” trains at the Clark/State Street Station. The lady showing up at the right time added the human element to the scene that makes it stronger.

September 1, 2018 – Day 306 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Amtrak Platform – Waiting to be one of the last off Amtrak 392 at Chicago’s Union Station I grabbed this shot of the platform! I love the light, shapes and design of the photo!

August 31, 2018 – Day 305 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – What a smile – My nephew Xavier is growing too fast!! I grabbed this shot as he flashed me a smile today at karate with one of his front baby teeth now gone!

August 30, 2018 – Day 304 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Waiting in line – While waiting in line at school to pickup Jayden this afternoon I shot this photo of kids playing on the playground. Finding something to help frame and add interest to your photograph will go a long way to making the picture more interesting!

August 29, 2018 – Day 303 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Rest Area! -Out railfanning today at Mt. Carmi, Indiana I spotted this “Rest Area 4 Coal Bucket Drivers” and had to get a photo! Couldn’t find any drivers around to pose however!

August 28, 2018 – Day 302 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Alien Deer – My nephew Damion proudly displays the “Alien Deer” he drew on a napkin today at lunch! He’s our budding artist!

August 27, 2018 – Day 301 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Karate Drills – My nephew Jayden is having a good time as he works on a karate drill under the watchful eye of his sensei, Eric.

August 26, 2018 – Day 300 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Photo Bomber!!! – Today at lunch I was shooting a selfie with my niece Journey and another niece Elaina snuck into the background for a “photo bomb!” Sometimes the photo you originally plan isn’t the one that comes out the best!

August 25, 2018 – Day 299 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Cousins! – My nephews Xavier and Jayden lay around on a car trailer ramp after we spent a couple hours walking around and shooting pictures at the Frog Follies car show in Evansville, Indiana today. They both were about tuckered out but had a great time!

August 24, 2018 – Day 298 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Aunt Chrystal! – My niece Chrystal surprised Elaina, Jayden and Damion yesterday when she walked in the door for their karate practice! She lives in Chicago and when she showed up you could hear plain as day Aunt Chrystal as the three of them rushed to give her a hug! I expected this to happen and was ready with my iPhone when she came in the door. Being prepared is always good, but still I got a bit of movement from being in the lower light of the indoors. However, I’ll take a little blur as this is a moment that makes it worth it!

August 22, 2018 – Day 296 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Old Grainery – This old grain operation in Guthrie, Ky from many years ago has seen better days, but it still makes for an interesting picture that works really well in black and white!

August 23, 2018 – Day 297 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Patterns – Look around you, patterns can be found just about anywhere and can make for interesting pictures! This stack of Mountain Dews was setting in the grocery isle of my local Kroger store and made the cut for my challenge photo for the day!

August 21, 2018 – Day 295 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Lights and Lines! – I like all the lines and different lights in this photo I shot this morning as I headed in for lunch with members of our local photography group.

August 20, 2018 – Day 294 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Seats – Captured this scene just before my train club meeting. I liked the chairs lined up in a row and my shadow like it was almost sitting in one of them!

August 19, 2018 – Day 293 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Are you ready? – My nephew Jordan peeks in the Worship and Wonder door after church to see what is going on in the class as he waits for his cousins to finish up. He-s still not quite old enough to participate, but it won-t be much longer as he starts pre-school next month!

August 18, 2018 – Day 292 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Alien Princess – This afternoon I stopped by the Kelly Little Green Men festival at Kelly, Ky and found this Alien Princess wandering around the grounds! The festival stems from an alleged sighting of aliens back in 1955. I love roaming around small festivals like this as there’s always interesting pictures to be made!

August 17, 2018 – Day 291 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Junior Warriors – My great-great nephews Jayden, Damion and Xavier pose with their sensei Eric Myers after their first day in their Junior Warriors Karate Class! It was Jayden’s first day and the other two moved up from the Little Warriors class! They all did a great job! Damion wanted to do a serious pose, so no smiles or thumbs up!

August 16, 2018 – Day 290 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Quality Time – After picking my nephew Jayden up from 1st grade we spent some quality time roaming around town looking for pictures to shoot.
