September 4, 2019 – Part of the photo line during the night photo shoot in Duluth, Minnesota at a recent photo charter at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum on the North Shore Line. I really enjoy taking part in photo charters! They give you an opportunity to photograph trains in spots that would otherwise be unavailable.

March 26, 2019 – Cass Scenic Railroad Shays 4, 2, and 11, sit in the yard after a day of work at Cass, West Virginia, as lighting lights the sky from an approaching storm. Only person working this late night shift is the hostler, William H Taylor, who will keep the fires and water in the engines up to speed for another day of work. The Cass Scenic Railroad is Geared Steam, USA, boasting the largest collection of operating geared steam locomotives in the world. The railroad was originally part of West Virginia Pulp & Paper’s (later Mower Lumber Company) massive timber operations centered within the small community of Cass, West Virginia, situated deep within the Appalachian Mountains
Shay No. 2 — (Mayo Lumber No. 4) – 1928; Pacific Coast Class (PC-13). Shay No. 2 was reportedly the only Pacific Coast Shay ever built as a wood-burner. March 9, 2019 – NC&StL Steam Locomotive sits under stormy skies in downtown Nashville, TN, as workers inspect it after stopping for a display at Union Station. After several hours on display the locomotive was then towed on its own wheels to the restoration facility at the Tennessee Central Railway Museum, where it will undergo and estimated two years of restoration.
The Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway was a railway company operated in the southern United States in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. It began as the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad, chartered in Nashville in December 11, 1845, built to 5 ft (1,524 mm) gauge and was the first railway to operate in the state of Tennessee.
