May 18, 2018 – Southern Steam engine 401 makes its way from the the Monticello Railway Museum, in to downtown Monticello, Illinois, during Southern Rail Productions two day Photo Charter event.

The Monticello Railway Museum, is an all-volunteer organization in central Illinois with an operational railroad main line yard open to the public.

They offer train rides on Saturdays and Sundays from May through October, regardless of weather conditions, as well as a number of special events throughout the year.

2017 Railfest Operations at Chattanooga, TN

2017 Railfest, Chattanooga, TN – I’m often torn when I decide to shoot video trackside, because I invariably hate “missing” a good photograph, but Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Railfest lended itself so well to video that I made an effort to get some footage using my iPhone 7 Plus. The below, slightly over 13 minute, video is a bit longer than I normally do, but I think it flows pretty good and I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into the event.

August 23, 2016 – Norfolk Southern, NS 1067, the Reading Lines Heritage Unit

August 23, 2016 – Norfolk Southern, NS 1067 (EMD SD70ACe), the Reading Lines Heritage Unit, pulls south, next to Indiana Southern Railroad’s 3383 pulling on the local at ISR’s Ashby Yard in Petersburg, Indiana. It then backs up and hooks to the local and takes both trains to the NS yard at Oakland City, IN.

April 27, 2016 – Paducah & Louisville Railway WW1 with UK and UL engines northbound

April 27, 2016 – Paducah & Louisville Railway WW1, Louisville Gas & Electric, loaded coal train heads east on CSX’s Morganfield Branch at Providence, Ky with PAL UK engines 4522 and 2012 along with UofL 2013 as power, after picking up a load of coal at Dotki Mine in Clay, Ky. We also follow it on north as it makes its trip to Louisville, Ky on the P&L Railway.

March 28, 2016 CSX Henderson Subdivision, Mortons Gap, Ky – This video is a timelapse of a CSX MOW crews replacing the switch panel at Mortons Junction in Mortons Gap, Ky. The shooting of the timelapse began at 6:47am CST and finished with the first trains heading through around 1pm CST. We’ll also see some MOW Track Crew Movement at the beginning and end of the video.

March 14, 2016 – Paducah and Louisville southbounds at Princeton and Gilbertsville, Ky – In this video we catch a empty ballast train southbound at Princeton, Ky with PAL 3808 leading and PAL 2111 leading a loaded coal train across the bridge at Kentucky Dam in Gilbertsville, Ky also on its way south on the Paducah and Louisville Railway.

February 7th, 2015 CSX Q514 at Casky, Hopkinsville, Ky

On February 7th, 2015 CSX Q514 stopped at the north end of Casky in Hopkinsville, Ky to pickup a load of auto frames from the Metalsa plant there with engines UP 4563, CSX 6521 and KCS 4029. Added bonus is CSX Q025 passing.
