The South Shore Line (reporting mark NICD) is an electrically powered interurban commuter rail line operated by the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) between Millennium Station in downtown Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in South Bend, Indiana, United States.
The name refers to both the physical line and the service operated over that route. The line was built in 190108 by predecessors of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad, which continues to operate freight service. March 15, 2018 – It’s a beautiful Spring day as Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit 8114 leads empty autorack 239 west, as it approaches the hwy 37 overpass at Eckerty, Indiana on it’s way to Kansas City, MO. Of course, it had to be today’s picture! Kids and their reactions always make for good pictures! Be aware of them and keep your camera close by for those moments!
March 11, 2018 – Day 132 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – The Mask – Today I found this mask on the wall of the restaurant where members of the West Kentucky Photography met for lunch. I like the starkness of the mask against the plain wall. Not much question what the subject of the photo is here! Keeping your picture as simple as possible will go a long way and help make a stronger picture! A mentor in my life passed on this bit of wisdom to me long ago, If it doesn’t contribute to your photo, then eliminate it by changing your angle, lens or whatever it takes to make the picture strong as possible when you shoot the photo, not later in the darkroom or computer.
