January 23, 2017 – Northbound CSX Q688, with Spirit of West Springfield leading, meets S645 at the north end of Slaughters, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision. The CSX 3099, “Spirit of West of West Springfield”, honors the home yard of The Firefighters Education and Training Foundation safety trains. It also carries the logos of the CSX Hazmat Team and the Foundation on it’s long hood.

My nephew Shutterbug Damion and his cousins Shutterbug Jayden and Shutterbug Xavier have a new (used) Fuji Camera that they’ll be using to shoot pictures with. It’s a Fuji Finepix S4250, a 14mp camera.

I’m always happy to see young folks that have an interest in both photography and trains! We had a great time and met some folks that I’ve been friends with on Facebook for awhile. The Memorial Tower was the main entrance to the former St. Joseph Seminary. The Knights of Columbus bought the ground, razed the building, except for the tower, and constructed a new Club room in this location.
