January 21, 2017 – CSX empty ethanol train K617 passes a slightly misaligned track as it pulls through Hybrid heading into Howell Yard at Evansville, In. The track is part of a new lead that is being put in at Howell.
January 21, 2017 – Spent some time trackside today on the Henderson Subdivision with some fellow railfans, Logan, William and Cody. I’m always happy to see young folks that have an interest in both photography and trains! We had a great time and met some folks that I’ve been friends with on Facebook for awhile. Even got to meet some very patient and kind grandparents and a mom! Had a great day and caught several nice trains! Look for them over the next week!

December 30, 2016 – CSXT caboose 900059, which has seen better days, sits by itself in the CSX yard area at Effingham, IL. It’s a former Chessie caboose that is now used by CSX as a shoving platform.
December 27, 2016 – Amtrak 26 pulls train 391 (the Saluki) from the station as it heads south toward the ICG Crossing in Centralia, Illinois.
December 30, 2016 – Union Pacific Railroad, UP 7970 a GE AC45CCTE, approaches the Memorial Tower at Teutopolis Illinois as it leads CSX’s Q131 west. The Memorial Tower was the main entrance to the former St. Joseph Seminary. The Knights of Columbus bought the ground, razed the building, except for the tower, and constructed a new Club room in this location.
January 17, 2017 – Paducah and Louisville Railway’s 2101 leads a string of 8 locomotives as it pulls a heavy loaded coal train away from Warrior Coal and down the Warrior Lead into Madisonville, Ky where it’ll head on south.
December 30, 2016 – A Canadian National Railway conductor rides a loaded grain car as his local backs over the CSX/CN crossover at Effingham, IL.
December 27, 2016 – Remote Controlled Union Pacific Railroad 1722, a rebuilt EMD SD40N, works on a autorack train in the Union Pacific yard in at Salem, Illinois.
January 11, 2017 – The conductor on a CSX local, with CSXT 6974, opens a coupler as he and the engineer work on a pickup from the International Paper Company off of Old Madisonville Road on CSX’s River Line in Henderson, Ky. The River Line used to belong to the Illinois Central Railway and then Indiana Hi-Rail Railroad.
January 5, 2017 – A empty CSX autorack train sits short of Nurrenburn Road crossing in Evansville, In, as it waits for a recrew to take it on across the Ohio river bridge at Henderson, Ky where it’ll take the Texas Line off the Henderson Subdivision and head to Louisville, Ky. CSX is working on adding new tracks leading into Howell Yards.

December 30, 2016 – A Canadian National local, running ex-Grand Trunk Western 4914 EMD (GP38-2), backs into the siding at Effingham Equity grain elevators at Effingham, Illinois.
December 26, 2016 – CSX empty coal train N001 sits on Pee Vee Spur off CSX’s Morganfield Branch at Madisonville, Ky, waiting for a Paducah and Louisville Railway loaded train to move off the Warrior Coal lead, as a storm passes over during the last light of the day.
December 30, 2016 – Amtrak 162 leads train 390, the Saluki, north through the CSX crossover as it prepares to stop at Effingham, Illinois to pick-up and drop-off passengers on its way to Chicago, IL.
January 5, 2017 – Norfolk Southern’s 167 crew sits on 8046 as they wait for a crew bus to pick them up from the middle of the yard at Princeton, Indiana as CN unit train 319 sits next to them, also with a crew waiting for pickup, after arriving with their eastbound manifest train.
