September 7, 2016 – ElectroMotive (EMD) SD70ACe – Tier4 locomotives 1609 and 1610 sit in CSX’s Atkinson Yard at Madisonville, Ky after delivery by Paducah and Louisville Railway from the Mayfield shops overnight. The engines were scheduled to move south to Nashville where they’re expected to continue their test runs between Nashville and Cincinnati.
August 20, 2016 – CSX E050-16 coal train approaches the station at Princeton, Indiana, with a set of Union Pacific engines leading the way, as it heads north on CSX’s CE&D Subdivision. The depot was built in 1875 and has been beautifully restored and is the only remaining depot structure in Gibson County. It once housed the C&EI and L&N railways and is now home to the Gibson County Visitors Center and features a railway museum with a restored train caboose.
August 23, 2016 – Norfolk Southern, NS 1067 (EMD SD70ACe), the Reading Lines Heritage Unit, pulls south, next to Indiana Southern Railroad’s 3383 pulling on the local at ISR’s Ashby Yard in Petersburg, Indiana. It then backs up and hooks to the local and takes both trains to the NS yard at Oakland City, IN.
