March 10, 2015 – CSX R687 (a rerouted train) with Union Pacific 6237 rolls past a small landslide from the recent snow melt and rainfall as it works it’s way through the “S” curve approaching the north end of the Romney siding at Nortonville, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision.
March 11, 2015 – Indiana Southern Railway engine 4043 sits in a siding on the south end of CSX’s Howell Yard in Evansville, Indiana waiting for it’s next assignment.
March 11, 2015 – A trio of Evansville Western Railway engines with 3836 in the lead make their way along East Sherman Street as they head into Mount Vernon, Indiana.
March 10, 2015 – CSX Q029, with engine 137 in the lead, passes Q026 as it sits in the siding at Romney just south of Nortonville, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision.
March 11, 2015 – Evansville Western Railway engine 3836 pulls up next to the company offices in Mount Vernon, Indiana after dropping off several cars to a local factory. At left is GATX lease unit 2608 along with several other EVWR engines. Today was a spur of the moment trip to the EVWR as I’ve never done any railfanning along it, but plan on that changing!
March 10, 2015 – CSX engines 487 and 4556 pull out of Paducah and Louisville’s West Yard in Madisonville, Ky heading south with a loaded coal train. The train has been sitting in the yard since March 5th, when 18 inches of snow fell on the area.
March 7, 2015 – A fresh crew heads for loaded grain train CSX G038 in the siding at the south end of Rankin siding, with BNSF 4851 in the lead, as the signals are aligned for hot intermodal CSX Q028 at Rankin, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision.
March 6, 2015 – Paducah and Louisville engines 4504 and 2013 pull a loaded coal train through West Yard at Madisonville, Ky on it’s way south after the overnight snowfall.
March 9, 2015 – CSX T882-04 moves north on the Henderson Subdivision past a RJ Corman construction crew that has begun to rebuild the engine barn at Guthrie, Ky on the Memphis Line, which was destroyed late last year by fire, along with several engines.
March 7, 2015 – GMTX Switcher 163 sits in a house track on Broadway Street, just north of CSX’s Howell Yard as CSX engine 5268 works on building a train at the yard in Evansville, Indiana.
March 6, 2015 – Paducah and Louisville Railway engine 2115 breaks through the snow at the Broadway Street crossing in Providence, Ky as it leads the first empty coal train to Dotiki mine in Dixon, Ky since 14-18 inches of snow fell on the region.
March 5, 2014 – CSX S647-04 (second) heads through the s curve approaching the north end of Romney siding as it heads south on the Henderson Subdivision at Nortonville, Ky with engine 9039 on point.
March 4, 2015 – A Paducah and Louisville Railroad crew moves a empty coal train north through the driving snow at Richland, Ky with Union Pacific 7190 and Ferromex 4664 trailing. This was the start of the 16-19 inches of snow that fell on the area overnight.
March 3, 2015 – CSX engine 876 leads a northbound empty grain train through Mortons Gap, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision.
March 3, 2015 – Paducah and Louisville railroad’s engine 2125, a GP40-2, leads a local freight northbound past the signals at MP 153.3 in Richland, Ky.
March 3, 2015 – CSX loaded coal train T103-26 heads south on the Henderson Subdivision at Mortons Gap, Ky with engines CSX 3036, CITX 3087 AND CSX 291.
March 2, 2015 – A CSX manifest train, headed up by engine 3123 passes the old Louisville and Nashville Railroad depot at Madisonville, Ky as it heads north on the Henderson Subdivision.
March 2, 2015 – UP 7190 and Ferromex 4664 wait at West Yard in Madisonville, Ky for a Paducah and Louisville Railroad crew to take the loaded coal train south toward Paducah, Ky
March 1, 2015 – Paducah and Louisville crews roll south with a loaded Norfolk Southern coal drag after picking up a load at Cimarron Mine in Madisonville, Ky. Lead unit was 8069 with 9881 trailing and the conductor gives a thumbs up as they pass through Richland, Ky. The other two verticals are at Dawson Springs, Ky and one shows the pushing units 1050 and 2524.
