January 22, 2015 – A Paducah and Louisville conductor makes his way back to his train at milepost 149.4 as they prepare to move north with their empty coal train, with UP engine 9828 in the lead. This shot is right at the switch that goes out to Warrior Coal and the Peevee Spur at West Yard in Madisonville, Ky.
January 20, 2015 – CSX Q029 heads south under the Paducah and Louisville Railroad at CSX’s Monarch in Madisonville, Ky under a yellow light due to another grain train just ahead of him. The grain train was to take the siding at Nortonville, Ky to allow the hot intermodal to pass. One day I hope to catch a P&L train going over as a CSX comes north under it. I keep going back, but it hasn’t happened yet. Ah the joys of railfanning!

January 23, 2015 – CSX T103, Manitou, KY – Bostwick, FL, pulls away from Warrior Coal with a full load as it heads toward Atkinson Yard at Madisonville, Ky through a heavy snowfall.
January 20, 2015 – CSX Q028 passes under the North Main Street overpass as it makes it’s way north through Madisonville, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision, with engine 465 in the lead.
January 19, 2015 – A Paducah and Louisville local crew walks toward their engines as the Kansas City Southern 4808 coal train, with trailing unit 3930 that they brought to West Yard in Madisonville, Ky earlier in the afternoon sits to the left. The KCS train went south toward Paducah overnight and then came back north, with what appeared still to be a empty train, on the night of January 20th. Not sure what’s going on with this mystery train. Haven’t been able to find it in the area since then.

January 20, 2015 – Pan Am Railways 616, a SD40M-2, a leased unit from GATX, sits in CSX’s Atkinson Yard service facility in Madisonville, Ky after being transferred from VMV at Mayfield, Ky by the Paducah and Louisville Railroad. According to their website, Pan Am Railways is North America’s largest regional railroad system. PAR’s routes stretch from Saint John and St. Leonard, NB to Rotterdam Jct., NY and Derby, CT. After the engine has been inspected it’s expected to move north on the Henderson Subdivision, probably to Evansville’s Howell Yard first and they on from there.
January 19, 2015 – A Paducah and Louisville crew exits the nose of Kansas City Southern 4808 coal train, with trailing unit 3930, at West Yard in Madisonville, Ky. The empty coal train was scheduled to move north on the PAL later in the night.
January 19, 2015 – A empty Kansas City Southern coal train, with engines 3930 and 4808, sits in the wye at the south end of CSX’s Atkinson Yards in Madisonville, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision waiting for it’s crew. It moved onto the Paducah and Louisville to West Yard later in the afternoon where it’s going to sit till it moves north on the P&L later this evening. Guessing it’s headed to the coal facility at Beaver Dam, Ky to load, but don’t know for sure.

January 12, 2015 – Paducah and Louisville’s 70MAC 4512 sits on the Warrior Lead, just before West Yard in Madisonville, Ky, with a loaded coal train waiting to take it’s load north.
January 16, 2015 – Coal dust flies from loaded coal train CSX T108 as it approaches McLeod Lane crossing as it makes it’s way south out of Madisonville, Ky on the Henderson Subdivision with engine 967 on point.
