I’ve a 3 year old grandson who loves trains. Where and when could we view trains moving through Hopkinsville ky?
Weekends are best for us as I drive a truck through the week.
Thanks for any help you can give.

The busiest days for trains through Hopkinsville is Wednesday and Thursdays. There’s trains everyday, but more on those days. As for where, the old Louisville & Nashville Depot downtown next to the tracks is a good spot. Everything going and coming passes there. It’s a visitor center now days I think. There’s platform there with a fence so it’s a safe spot. Also there’s a park across the street.

Otherwise just about any crossing would work as well. Out of town a bit you might check out John Rivers Road off of Hwy 41 towards Pembroke. That’s where the trains come in and out of the yard there. There’s plenty of spots to pull over and watch trains.

Above all else, be safe wherever you decide to watch trackside!
