June 1, 2018 – Day 214 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Back Road Barns – I love traveling the back roads of Kentucky, or any state actually! Getting off the interstate system will take you though interesting places and towns that are treasure troves of pictures just waiting to be captured! Today I was making my way from Guthrie, Ky to Trenton, Ky, trying to get to a spot before a train, when I passed this scene on a road I’d not been along before. Well, needless to say, I missed the train picture!! I have an easy goal these days and thats to travel at least one new road a month. Its been going great and I always find a picture when I do it! Travel the roads less traveled… you won’t regret it!
May 31, 2018 – Day 213 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Stormy Fisherman – The skies were getting pretty dark and I knew there was a storm coming when I turned around and went back to shoot this picture in Mortons Gap, Ky. Follow your gut instinct when out shooting pictures, it’s usually right!
May 30, 2018 – Day 212 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Memorial Day – It was June 1968 when Memorial Day was moved from my birthday to the last Monday in May. While it works out great for 3-day weekends for everyone, I still consider my birthday to be the “true” Memorial Day! So, today’s image is from the Veteran’s Cemetery at Hopkinsville, Ky, to remind us of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
May 29, 2018 – Day 211 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – The Hallway ‘ After a trip the restroom Damion and I were making our way back to the restaurant, where we were having lunch with some of our local photography club folks, when he took off running down this long hallway and as I expected him to, so I was prepared for this shot! I have always loved the leading lines here and with him running down it, I love it even more!

I figured I’d get Damion and Elaina standing beside my sister as she voted, but Elaina, much to the dismay of her brother Damion, had other plans! Always be open to other pictures, then the one you plan for!

May 15, 2018 – Day 197 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – No Pictures! – This morning Elaina and I played the “No Pictures” game! LOL Sometimes the hands make for a nicer picture and fun memories! If you look real close you can see her peeking through her fingers at me! About a minute later everything was back to normal and she had the phone taking pictures, but not of me!!

You just never know where you’ll find an interesting picture! Keep your eyes open as they are all around you!!
May 13, 2018 – Day 195 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – Two Generations – After church today I caught this shot of my beautiful niece grandma Jeanne and great-great niece Journey at our favorite stopping place for lunch on Sundays. I still can recall to this day taking pictures of Jeanne at the same age as Journey! Where did time go???
May 12, 2018 – Day 194 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – First Ballet Recital – This evening was another milestone for Elaina as she had her first on stage performance at our local fine arts center, along with others from her ballet school! Here she peeks through the opening between one of her tutus for the night’s performance and her mom. When photographing kids, don’t always go for the normal shot! Look for something different to help add impact!

May 6, 2018 – Day 188 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – Ready for Church – My niece Elaina is all kicked back in her seat waiting for us to head off to church this morning sporting her “Derby Hat” as she gets in a little time on her tablet. Our church encourages everyone to wear their favorite hat the Sunday after the running of the Kentucky Derby and of course it always makes for some great pictures!!

May 4, 2018 – Day 186 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – Shutterbug Elaina – Today after I picked my niece Elaina up from preschool we headed downtown to shoot pictures and this shot is from the old courthouse, one of the places she wanted to shoot. As much as possible when I’m out shooting with my “Shutterbug Kids” I let them pick the direction they want to wander and take photos. She is one of 5 of my great-great nieces and nephews between the ages of 4-7 years old where we go out on photo adventures together!
May 3, 2018 – Day 185 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – Blizzard Time – What’s better than a cool Oreo Blizzard at Dairy Queen, after a hot spring day playing at the park! For me, capturing a portrait of my handsome nephew Jayden using the portrait mode on my iPhone! He’s also a pretty good young photographer himself! Look him up on Facebook! May 1, 2018 – Day 183 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B&W Photo Challenge – Hugs and Kisses – Damion tries his best to get away from his little sister who wants to give him hugs and kisses after his participation in his kindergarten classes performance this evening at his school. He loves his sister to the moon and back, but hugs and kisses from his sister in public and at school, not happening if he can help it! Capture the moments between siblings, they make for great memories!
