June 18, 2020 - A different take on a picture I shared yesterday of a string of power that is stored on the Landree Lead at Indiana Railroads Hiawatha Yard in Jasonville, Indiana. Years ago this track led to the Landree mine which no longer exists.

Two of these units have been placed back in service since I shot this and INRD SD90s & SD40s are stored currently due to not being needed at the moment. The INRD GP38s are stored Out of Service. All the CEFX, CITX, (etc) are stored pending repairs work, or new lease from the customer.

June 3, 2020 - Kasgro (KRL) Caboose 073 brings up the rear of CSX W993-31, with CSXT 5263 leading, as it backs onto the MH&E branch at Atkinson Yard in Madisonville, Kentucky on the Henderson Subdivision. They parked it there for a short while as it waited for a fresh crew to take over the train and continue on it's northbound move.

The train was running with an oversized load General Electric load on a Kasgro 20 Axel Depressed Deck Car KRL 204040 that has a load limit of 943,900lbs.

Kasgro Rail Corporation builds, maintains, and manages a fleet of nearly 500 specialty railcars which are used for transporting oversized and heavy "dimensional" loads anywhere in the United States Railroad system.

June 29, 2020 - I was in the middle of getting in my 10,000 steps for the day at Madisonville when I got a call from fellow railfan Cooper Smith, in Clarksville, TN, about CSX W016-27 heading north out of Hopkinsville, Kentucky on the Henderson Subdivision. So, I pulled out my iPhone and tuned into another railfan friend, Steve Miller's Broadcastify scanner feed for the Henderson Sub around Hopkinsville, as I crossed over the north Main Street bridge in Madisonville above the mainline through town, to keep track on it's move as I still was about 2 miles from my RAV4..

At this point since we'd only heard it on the scanner we figured it was another windmill turbine move, but another railfan friend, Tom Wortham was trackside on the Henderson Cutoff track and caught sight and photographed it and let us all know that it was a rail train, which I caught here coming through Arklow, back onto the main at Madisonville, Ky and chased it north to Henderson, Ky shooting videos of its move north to Effingham, IL.

So, this is what the railfan community is all about! Sharing information with other's in our community to allow all of us to pursue or passion for trains! Thanks guys!!

June 18, 2020 - Indiana Railroad (INRD) engineer, Travis Collins, on HWSA-18 (Hiawatha, Jasonville, IN - Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN) passes the signal at the south end of Latta, as it passes their main line around INRD Hiawatha Yard at Jasonville, Indiana. Their yard used to be owned by Canadian Pacific and was called Latta yard at that time.

According to Wikipedia: The Indiana Rail Road (reporting mark INRD) is a United States Class II railroad, originally operating over former Illinois Central Railroad trackage from Newton, Illinois, to Indianapolis, Indiana, a distance of 155 miles. This line, now known as the Indiana Rail Road's Indianapolis Subdivision, comprises most of the former IC line from Indianapolis to Effingham, Illinois; Illinois Central successor Canadian National Railway retains the portion from Newton to Effingham.

INRD also owns a former Milwaukee Road line from Terre Haute, Indiana, to Burns City, Indiana (site of the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center), with trackage rights extending to Chicago, Illinois. INRD serves Louisville, Kentucky, and the Port of Indiana on the Ohio River at Jeffersonville, Indiana, through a haulage agreement with the Louisville & Indiana Railroad (LIRC).
